SURG-Africa in tweets: the communication campaign that explains it all

5/2/2021

Due to the end of the project and with the intention of reaching everyone interested in Global Surgery, we will be tweeting our history and stories at @SURGAfrica.
On the 25th of May this year, SURG-Africa will conclude officially.

It has been a long journey, where many extraordinary professionals were involved in the goal of taking a step further into bringing safer surgery to rural populations in Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia.

For the next few months, we want to talk about the project from its very beginning, remembering the origins and what is behind the inception of the project. We will also share lessons on the methodologies we have used along the years and the reasons to use them, and on the implementation of the project. Finally, we will end by discussing  the impact of the project on the countries we have been working in and as well as the wider  Global Surgery community.

We will be sharing with you the obstacles we found on the way, the achievements we have made, the testimonies that best define this project. For that, we will produce interviews, articles, post blogs and much more, using our social media to spread the message.

We would like that at the end of our trip everyone understands the meaning of SURG-Africa and what this joint effort has meant for everyone who has been involved with it. SURG-Africa might end in a few months, but we hope that its results will last for a very long time.

Don’t forget, from today, 8th of February, everyday, Monday to Friday, SURG-Africa in tweets.
