SURG-Africa’s ‘mobile phone surgical clinic’ in Malawi, awarded with the first One Surgery Community Award

Yesterday, 30th of May, One Surgery announced the winners of its inaugural One Surgery Community Award - Voice of One Surgery 2018. Following a public vote, SURG-Africa and the mobile phone surgical clinic conducted in Malawi, was chosen for its excellence in Global Surgery, together with other three projects.

We want to congratulate our colleagues in Malawi who have made this possible, and thank those who voted for us. This SURG-Africa initiative has reduced unnecessary referrals by 30% in areas of Malawi where this mobile phone surgical clinic has been implemented.
